Quincy is a city of history: the birthplace, home, and final resting place of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, the second and sixth Presidents of the United States respectively. John Hancock, signer of the Declaration of Independence also was born here. Currently, we have the longest running Flag Day parade in the country. In addition to granite quarrying, Quincy was known for its shipbuilding enterprise. Many Navy vessels of World War II were constructed here in the Fore River Shipyard.

Quincy is a city of firsts: In West Quincy, the Granite Railway was one of the first railroads in the U.S., transporting quarried granite to the Neponset River; in Wollaston, the Howard Johnson restaurant and hotel chain was born; Quincy Center is home to the very first Dunkin' Donuts store.

Our Catholic Divine Mercy Parish, established in August, 2020, is a consolidation of three parishes: St. Mary Parish, established in 1840, Sacred Heart Parish, established in 1903 and St. Ann Parish, established in 1922.
